Why we bother with area pages at all
Plenty of agencies produce a hundred near-identical location pages with the town name swapped in each one. It used to work. It now actively harms a site, because Google has spent years learning to spot exactly that pattern.
So we only write a page for a place we can say something genuinely true and specific about — what the local economy actually looks like, which trades are over-represented, what the landmarks are, how far it is from our door. If we cannot write four hundred honest words about somewhere, it does not get a page.
That is also the advice we give clients. One good local page beats thirty thin ones, every time, and it is considerably less work.
