Website Speed Optimisation in Mansfield

Images sorted properly
Correct dimensions, modern formats, compression, lazy loading below the fold and explicit sizing to stop layout shift. Images are the single most common cause and the easiest win.
JavaScript and CSS trimmed
Unused code removed, remaining code deferred or loaded only where needed, render-blocking resources eliminated. This is where page-builder sites gain the most.
Caching configured coherently
Page caching, object caching and browser caching set up as one system rather than three plugins arguing with each other.
Third-party scripts brought under control
Chat widgets, tracking pixels, font loaders and review embeds are frequently the worst offenders, and they are somebody else’s code on your critical path. We defer, self-host or remove them.

PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals scores from before we started and after we finished, on mobile, on a realistic connection. No moving the goalposts to desktop.
What the Core Web Vitals actually measure
Three things, all measured on real visitors rather than in a lab:
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) — how long until the main content appears. Target: under 2.5 seconds. Usually an image or hosting problem.
- Interaction to Next Paint (INP) — how quickly the page responds when someone taps. Target: under 200ms. Usually a JavaScript problem.
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) — how much things jump about while loading. Target: under 0.1. Usually images or ads without reserved space.
What is realistic
On a site we build from scratch we target 95+ on mobile and usually get it. On an existing WordPress site with a page-builder, getting from 30 to 75 is a realistic and worthwhile outcome; getting to 95 would mean rebuilding it, and we will say so rather than take your money for diminishing returns.

Aim for the main content appearing within 2.5 seconds on a mid-range phone on mobile data. Under 1.5 seconds is genuinely fast and puts you ahead of nearly every local competitor.
Will making my site faster improve rankings?
It is one ranking factor among many — it will not rescue a site with no relevant content. But between two comparable competitors, the faster one wins, and speed also directly increases the percentage of visitors who stay long enough to convert.
My PageSpeed score is 100 on desktop but 40 on mobile. Which matters?
Mobile. Google indexes mobile-first and the majority of local searches happen on a phone. Desktop scores are the flattering ones and largely irrelevant.
Can you make a Wix or Squarespace site faster?
Only marginally. On those platforms you do not control the underlying code, so the ceiling is set by the platform. We can fix images and remove unnecessary apps, but there is a limit and we will be upfront about it.
