What you get
Updates applied on staging first
Core, plugins and themes updated on a copy of your site, checked that nothing broke, then pushed live. The order matters — this is the difference between maintenance and just clicking "update all" and hoping.
Daily off-site backups
Stored somewhere other than your server, retained for 30 days, and — importantly — actually tested. A backup nobody has ever restored is a theory, not a backup.
Uptime monitoring
Checked every minute. If your site goes down at 2am on a Sunday, we know before you do, and often before any customer notices.
Security scanning and hardening
Malware scans, login rate-limiting, firewall rules, and a look at anything odd in the access logs.
Small content changes included
Price change, new team member, updated opening hours, a paragraph reworded. Most plans include a sensible amount of this without a separate invoice each time.
A quarterly health check
Speed, broken links, form testing, search visibility. Sent to you as a short report in plain English, not a 40-page automated PDF.

Three tiers, and most local businesses sit comfortably in the first two.
- Essential — £10/month. Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, security scanning. For brochure sites.
- Business — £25/month. Everything above, plus 30 minutes of content changes a month, quarterly reporting, and priority response.
- Ecommerce — £45/month. Everything above, plus payment and checkout testing, stock integration monitoring, and same-day response.
We will maintain sites we did not build
You do not have to have bought your website from us. We take on other people’s sites regularly. We will do an initial audit first so we both know what we are inheriting — occasionally we find something bad enough that the honest recommendation is a rebuild rather than life support.

From £10/month is a genuine starting point, not a teaser. Here is what moves it, so you can work out roughly where you would land before you ring us.

Do I really need website maintenance?
If your site runs on WordPress, or any platform with plugins, yes — the security case alone justifies it. If you have a purely static site with no database, the need is much lower and we will tell you so.
What if my site breaks outside office hours?
Monitoring runs 24/7 and we get alerted immediately. For total outages we respond out of hours. For "the contact form has a typo", that waits until Monday, which we think is reasonable.
Is hosting included?
Not in the maintenance price, but the two bundle well and most clients take both. Maintenance works fine on third-party hosting too.
Can I cancel?
Monthly, with no notice period and no exit fee. If we are not earning it, you should not be paying it.
